A cleaner surface isn’t necessarily a new surface
Every surface has a history, and its condition affects what can reasonably be achieved. Cleaning can make a surface look significantly better by removing dirt, grime, mould, algae, stains and other deposits where the agreed method can safely address them.
What cleaning cannot do is make an older, weathered, repaired or damaged surface new again. It can also reveal conditions that were sitting underneath those deposits all along, such as:
- cracks;
- previous repairs and patching;
- colour variation;
- etching;
- coating failure and deterioration;
- faded areas;
- existing staining; and
- general surface wear.
We do not automatically repair or restore these conditions. Repair and restoration are separate work, and we only carry them out where they are specifically included in the agreed scope. Where we spot something worth addressing, we will point it out and talk you through the options.
Assessment
We consider the material, age, coatings, repairs, drainage, access and surrounding areas. Where a condition could affect the method or result, we will explain it before work where practical.
Existing damage
Cracks, loose coatings, failed sealants, rust, rot, etching and previous repairs may be revealed or affected during cleaning or maintenance. We do not assume responsibility for pre-existing defects that were not caused by our work.
Information provided before booking
The assessment and the quote rely on the information available beforehand, including your description of the property, photographs, measurements and access details.
If the actual conditions differ materially from that information, we may reassess before going ahead with materially different work. We will show you what we have found, explain what it means for the method and agree the next step together.
Access and hazards
Tell us about fragile surfaces, electrical risks, underground services, pets, tenants, strata requirements or restricted areas. We may stop or alter work if a safe method is not available.
Results
Results vary with age, condition and previous damage. The safest suitable method may not remove every mark. See Warranty & Limitations for the related service expectations.
